WANG'S ERA WORST EVER THROUGH FIVE STARTS
Chien-Ming Wang allowed four runs in 2 2/3 innings pitched Wednesday night.
Wang's ERA as a starting pitcher is now 21.60. Since 1913, the first year in
which both the American and National League officially recorded earned runs,
that's the highest earned run average for any major league pitcher through
his first five starts of a season. The previous high was 18.00 for Kevin Ritz
for the Tigers in 1991.
